Comic Books that Make Life Better - January 17th, 2024
Context: I have read comics and loved the form since age 10. My first purchased comic was Uncanny X-men #168. I got it from a spinner rack at a gas station.

Friends, I was hooked. I have worked at and owned four comic and game stores. I've visited comic shops in 6 countries, and am actively looking to visit more.
My tastes have changed over the years; haven't read an X-men book in a decade plus. My love for the form has not.
It's a weird new Golden Age of really good comics, from talented creators. I'll be writing about a bunch of them as I find great stuff.
For example, Decorum. I didn't read the individual issues and got it in the hardcover form. It's amazing from the art, design, and story perspectives.
Jonatham Hickman is a talented writer. The story is a great. Mike Huddleston's art is spot on perfect for the story. I don't know how much of the overall design is his or a collaboration with Sasha Head, but wow! The whole book is a phenomenal example of words, visual design, and actual sequential art blending both.
